My First Step Towards the Moon!

Hi all!  Welcome to my blog!  I aim to be the first Peep in space, so I'm going to keep track of my journey because one day this memoir could be worth tons of bucks!  And that means you should comment because then you might be included in the book and get some simoleons from it!  ;D  Anyway, on to my life!

I just moved to Barnacle Bay from Sunset Valley.  Growing up next to the ocean, I knew I wanted to live near the water, but the Valley just didn't have the accelerated space program and, let's face it, social scene that some towns have.  You can always find a Peep at a party!  So I moved into a tiny lot on a cliff overlooking the ocean.  I worked with a contractor to build the starter home of my dreams.  It's pink, just like me!!  Ooh look, here I am:

I know, I'm adorable.  My ex told me I looked tasty enough to eat.  What can I say?  I'm sweet like candy. ;D

Unfortunately, I'm not the best at budgeting money.  I spent everything I had on building my home and, after putting in the bathroom and fridge, didn't have enough to pay the movers to bring over my bed!  So the first order of business was to get a job.  Obviously, I joined the Military at the local fort.  That's the only way this Peep is getting into space.  My first day was today... let me share it with you!

Since I didn't have my bed >< , I had to find another place to crash for the night.  Turns out there's this cavern on the other side of town near the military base and pirates have left furniture and swag (and burial urns!) in there for hiding out and storing booty.  I didn't let the scary stories phase me and spent the night in a pirate bed.  It was pretty awesome (but dark).

I'd forgotten to grab food from home, so the next morning I decided to forage for fruit in the wild.  Okay, so it was someone's back yard, but I was still foraging!  Harvesting apples is harder work that I expected.  By the time I finished one tree, I was about to be late for work!

I changed into my uniform, which I'd thankfully remembered to bring with me, and ran off to work.  I know most people aren't keen on the outfit, but I think I look adorable.  At least they didn't make me wipe off my make-up or take off my earrings.

I enjoyed work and met a few people there.  I'm not on the moon mission yet, but it's just a matter of time before they realize I'm the best one for the job!  Ooh, here's a pic with one of my coworkers!!

So, work trusted me enough to ask me to run some papers over to city hall.  Now, I know it doesn't sound like an important job, but it's my very first day, I haven't even gotten promoted yet, and they're already trusting me with documents.  I think I've impressed someone.  :D  Not that I feel pressured to stay professional the entire time.  Why shouldn't I wear what I want when I'm off work?  Yeah, so I changed to my kickin' outfit before running errands.

After dropping off the paperwork, I decided to check out the city center and maybe - hopefully - meet some new people.  I'm a pretty social person.  Peeps love to entertain others!  I need to make some friends or I'll be so unhappy in this new town.  And who would I party with?!  I stopped by the gym, but I didn't seem to be making any progress, so I'm just going to save up some money and take a class later.

Anyway, I was distracted by flashes of color behind a garden and, after investigating, discovered butterflies dancing in the sunlight.  I played with them for a while and even got one to land on my hand.  It was so cool!  I feel all one with nature and stuff.  :D

I walked over to the main square because I heard music coming from that direction.  There was an old man playing the guitar in the park, and he was pretty good.  I started dancing along and I think it inspired him, because he went a little wild for a while!  That's the influence Peeps have on others... we make them go a little crazy and do wild stunts!

I noticed a guy watching me dance (although I suppose he could have been watching the old man play) and I drifted over to say Hello.  Turns out he was a celebrity (like practically ever other person in town :/) and he wasn't all that interested in talking to me.  But I'm a pretty awesome person, so he warmed up to me pretty soon.  Apparently, just getting him to talk to me was enough to impress the locals, because I found out I was a bit of a celebrity, too!  Lookie!  I have stars!!  :D

Turns out the guy is named Alec and is a journalist.  That's cool.  Maybe he can write about my rise to the moon (and stardom).  I tried to impress him with my awesome daring-do by eating some dirt.  I don't know if he was impressed, but at least he didn't get grossed out.  Hey, I'm up front about my crazy stunts!  I know you've heard of the Peeps that stuff themselves into microwaves on a dare.  They've got nothing on me.

Alec must have enjoyed my upbeat style, because he agreed to hang out with me for the evening.  We headed down to the new dance club on the beach for drinks and dancing.

We seemed to dance well together while enjoying the live band.  We tried to play darts together, but we felt a little claustrophobic trapped in that tiny back room together.

Instead we took over the now empty stage.  Turns out Alec is pretty good on the keyboard.  And while it was my first time playing drums, there were people staying around to listen.  I may have to get my own set some time!

I decided to buy Alec a drink before heading home.  It seemed appropriate to get the KTHNXBY.  It was pretty tasty and I think Alec appreciated it because he drove me part of the way home afterward.

Thankfully, I'd gotten enough money from my first day at work to have my bed moved in, so I could finally sleep at home.  It was wonderful and relaxing to come home to my own cute-as-a-button house.  I think I'm going to love it here.  And I look forward to seeing Alec again tomorrow.  :D
